How Jazzduets Works

Jazzduets isn’t a random library of classes. Each resource on this site is carefully designed around a clear practice idea, a finite learning goal, and a musical result.

There are 4 recommended  learning pathways -  of study that you can follow (or not!) that have been carefully created to guide you on your learning journey and to remove doubt and confusion - so you know what to practice.

Choose the learning pathway that best aligns with where you are — and where you want to go next, the one that really attracts you as this will motivate you to finish it.
Results create confidence which creates motivation.

The Long View

Jazz isn’t something you ever complete or finally “master.”
It reflects life itself — always changing.

What you wanted to express ten years ago isn’t what matters to you now.
And it won’t be the same ten years from today.

The greats were always searching. Always evolving.
That’s one of the most beautiful things about jazz.

As John Coltrane said:

“There is never any end. There are always new sounds to imagine; new feelings to get at. And always, there is the need to keep purifying these feelings and sounds so that we can really see what we’ve discovered in its pure state.”

Think of learning as an enjoyable process of discovery, not a race.
There is no urgency here.

Nothing on this site is going away.
Everything will still be here when you’re ready.

Jazz isn’t something you master once, its more like a journey of learning that deeps throughout your life.
