About the Mentor

Nick Homes is a saxophonist, educator, mentor, and digital creator with over four decades of experience investigating the mechanics of jazz improvisation.

Approaching music through a lens of perseverance rather than innate "genius," decades of research have been dedicated to building innovative learning systems designed to help adults master jazz with maximum probability of success and minimal frustration.

The Philosophy of Learning a language

Moving abroad from the UK to Argentina at 39 and learning Spanish from scratch provided a profound and at times stressful masterclass in adult language acquisition. Confronted with confusion and the vastness of a new lexicon, the experience directly mirrored the adult journey into jazz: both domains are vast and initially overwhelming, both require a precise synthesis of aural and theoretical frameworks rather than relying on natural childhood absorption, and both demand consistent, structured effort over time to see tangible results.
